FG cuts dialysis session fee in key Federal hospitals to ₦12,000.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved a major subsidy aimed at reducing the cost of kidney dialysis for Nigerians.

According to a statement by presidential aide Sunday Dare, the price per dialysis session has now dropped from ₦50,000 to ₦12,000, offering relief to thousands of citizens suffering from kidney-related illnesses.

The subsidy is already active in several major federal hospitals across all six geopolitical zones, including:

1. FMC, Ebute-Metta, Lagos

2. FMC, Jabi, Abuja

3. UCH, Ibadan

4. FMC, Owerri

5. UMTH, Maiduguri

6. FMC, Abeokuta

7. LUTH, Lagos

8. FMC, Azare

9. UBTH, Benin

10. UCTH, Calabar

Dare added that more federal medical centres and teaching hospitals will be included before year’s end to expand nationwide access.

He also recalled that last year, President Tinubu approved free cesarean sections (C-sections) in federal hospitals as part of his broader efforts to improve maternal healthcare and reduce preventable maternal deaths.
