The founder of Ibadan-based Agidigbo 88.7 FM, Oriyomi Hamzat, has publicly apologized to Nigerian singer Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley.
Hamzat also announced the lifting of the ban earlier placed on Marley’s songs following allegations linking the artist to the death of late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, better known as Mohbad.
Recall that in 2024, Agidigbo FM stopped playing Naira Marley’s music after he was accused of being involved in Mohbad’s death.
However, during a live broadcast on Tuesday, August 19, Hamzat retracted his stance, tendered an apology, and declared that the station would now resume airing Marley’s songs.
He said:
“I am very sorry for all my provocative statements or words to Naira Marley. From today onward, I am lifting the ban on his tracks at Agidigbo FM. We can now play Naira Marley’s songs on our station.”
To confirm the directive, Hamzat immediately played Marley’s hit song “Tesumole.”
